Highlights of the first release wave in 2021
In May 2021, the ERP solution Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (formerly NAV), which is designed for medium-sized companies, underwent its first release wave with many new functions, which we would like to briefly present here:
- Optimization of the web client to further improve user-friendliness.
- Better integration into the Microsoft Teams communication and collaboration software. In future, Teams will allow direct access to contacts stored in Business Central, among other things.
- More extensive integration with the Microsoft Power platform, for example in the form of the new Power BI connector in version V.2 for the D365 BC API.
- The subsequent change of dimension values for postings to G/L accounts – a feature that has been long awaited – should be emphasized, as well as the most frequently expressed wishes of the BC community, such as a simplified import of bank statement files, the automatic creation of batch and serial number information cards and an improvement in the reconciliation of bank postings.
You can find a comprehensive list of all the new functions of Business Central Version 18 on the official Microsoft product website.
